Legal / CNC Dock
Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern your purchase and use of CNC Dock hardware, firmware, software, website, documentation, and related services (collectively, the “Product”). By purchasing, installing, accessing, or using the Product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the Product.
1. Intended Use
CNC Dock is intended for professional and industrial file-transfer use with compatible CNC equipment. You are responsible for determining compatibility with your equipment, network, processes, and safety requirements and for ensuring that only trained and authorized personnel use the Product.
2. Upload Integrity Verification
CNC Dock firmware performs an integrity check on 100% of files uploaded through the CNC Dock web interface. For each successful upload, the firmware uses a SHA-256 checksum to compare the received and stored file content with the uploaded source content.
A successful integrity check is designed to confirm that the file stored by CNC Dock matches the file submitted through the web interface. It does not analyze, simulate, validate, correct, approve, or certify CNC code, toolpaths, offsets, dimensions, machine settings, or the fitness of a file for any machine or operation. Interrupted, failed, cancelled, or otherwise unsuccessful uploads must not be used.
3. Operator Responsibilities
Before running any transferred file, you are solely responsible for:
- confirming that the correct file and revision were selected;
- reviewing and validating all CNC code, toolpaths, offsets, tools, workholding, clearances, speeds, feeds, and machine settings;
- using appropriate simulation, graphics, single-block, dry-run, feed-override, and prove-out procedures;
- maintaining independent backups and revision control for all files; and
- following the machine manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable workplace safety procedures.
Never rely on CNC Dock as a substitute for qualified programming review, machine safeguards, operator supervision, or an established prove-out process.
4. Data Value, Backups, and Storage Media
CNC programs, production files, and other customer data may be unique, irreplaceable, and extremely valuable. CNC Dock is a file-transfer device and is not a backup or archival system.
SD cards and all other storage media can wear out, become corrupted, malfunction, or fail without warning. You are solely responsible for maintaining current, independent backup copies of every file stored on CNC Dock. CNC Dock provides a convenient Download All function, and Silent Manufacturing LLC strongly recommends using it regularly and storing the resulting backup separately from the CNC Dock device.
Always confirm that a backup downloaded successfully and can be opened before deleting or replacing any original file. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silent Manufacturing LLC is not responsible for loss, corruption, destruction, inaccessibility, or recovery of customer data resulting from SD-card or other storage-media failure, wear, corruption, removal, formatting, power interruption, misuse, or any other cause.
5. File and Machine Risk
Machining involves risks including equipment damage, scrapped material, production interruption, and personal injury. You assume responsibility for the files you create, select, upload, modify, download, and run and for every machining operation performed using those files.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silent Manufacturing LLC is not responsible for claims that CNC code or file content was altered, corrupted, mangled, or otherwise changed in transmission when CNC Dock reported that the upload completed successfully and passed its integrity verification. This provision does not limit any responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited.
6. Prohibited Use and Modification
You may not use the Product in a manner that violates law, defeats machine safety systems, creates an unreasonable risk of harm, or exceeds the Product’s documented purpose. Damage or failure caused by unauthorized firmware, improper installation, misuse, abuse, incompatible equipment, electrical conditions, network interference, or unauthorized modification is the user’s responsibility.
7. Disclaimers
Except for any separate written warranty expressly provided by Silent Manufacturing LLC, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Product is provided “as is” and “as available.” Silent Manufacturing LLC does not warrant that the Product will meet every user requirement, be compatible with every CNC control or network, or operate without interruption.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits an implied warranty, statutory right, or other protection that applicable law does not permit us to exclude or limit.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silent Manufacturing LLC and its members, employees, contractors, and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages, or for loss of production, revenue, profits, data, files, materials, workpieces, business opportunity, or machine availability arising from or related to the Product.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Silent Manufacturing LLC’s total aggregate liability arising from or related to the Product will not exceed the amount actually paid for the specific CNC Dock unit giving rise to the claim. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law, including to liability that cannot legally be waived or limited.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction located in Washington County, Arkansas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10. Changes and Severability
We may update these Terms for future purchases or use by posting a revised version. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms do not replace any separate written agreement signed by Silent Manufacturing LLC.
